Welcome to our new website.
I would like to introduce myself and our organisation to you.
I am Chris Potts, the Chairman of the Whitstable Choral Society.
Whitstable Choral Society has been bringing great choral works to the East Kent area for over 75 years.
We are a friendly chorus of more than 100 voices, offering the chance to sing a variety of choral works in the Whitstable, Herne Bay, and Canterbury area, in various venues including Canterbury Cathedral.
Our members come from a wide area across East Kent. Our membership includes health workers, teachers, business people, students, stay-at-home parents, retirees-we represent a cross-section of our community. We attend rehearsal each week simply because we love to sing choral music.
Our season runs from September through to July, and in that time we will perform a number of concerts. These concerts typically include our Autumn concert in November; our annual carol concert at St. Alphege Church, Whitstable in December; a Spring concert in March; and our Summer concert in July.
We also provide a “wedding singers” service whereby a small group will provide support for hymns during the wedding service, and sing anthems during the signing of the register.
